Why do you think it was so easy to fall into the debt trap?
I was young and uneducated about money. As a child I was used to having everything handed to me and as an adult I learned the hard way that we actually have to work hard for the things that we want in life.
What was the defining moment that made you realize that you needed to get out of debt?
I hit rock bottom — after a year of making only minimum payments on my credit cards — the balances were not being paid down and I knew I had to make a change if I wanted to become debt free.
What obstacles did you have to overcome in paying off your debt?
I completely changed my life and my financial habits. I moved to a cheaper apartment, I sold my car and I got a second job. I cut my living expenses and I used all of my extra income to pay off my debt.

What’s your best tip for someone finally want to get out of debt?
Start right now. Stop making excuses and do whatever it takes to pay off your debt. It may be hard but it’s definitely worth it in the end.
